    Excerpts From Kissing Paper

Ode to For Elise

I played you in the night of love

Floating to a thousand clouds

And then again in tragedy

While crying strong and so, out loud

Absorbing you upon my chaise

In lullaby, I fell asleep

And when I heard he asked of her hand

With you, I cried, secrets to keep

Upon the hills and into waves

So many times I find you there

Some laugh and say- old fashioned girl

But my certainty shall never care

And if they were to steal you away

To take my device and cause me pain

I’d smile amidst their scoundrel plot

And ever hear you, just the same

       Again

Has there ever been a moment
When you were amongst a crowd
And you imagined my face
In someone’s place
Just to love me once again

Does the rain ever remind you
Of how I wept
The night I saw you
And you were with her
You know I felt a bit deranged
Like a little girl
Losing her way
I ran to find solace in the misty air
And prayed such a foreign prayer
For you to just love me
Once again

And when you moved on
It seemed so absurd
I could hear our ideas
As you shared them with her
I wondered so many times
If you ever kissed her tight
Or touched her hair
And then with all your want
Believed I was there
To heal the quest
Of tasting me
For insanity, sane
And loving me
Once again

The Glow

You have wrapped yourself around me again

My favorite atmosphere!

As usual I let your warmth sink into me

Like a million stars

And then I glow

And someone says

You look like you’re up to something

Someone always says that

When I’m wrapped in you

I just smile

I don’t agree

I don’t engage

Never shall I divulge

I simply walk away

And stay

Ever so quiet

All the while riding

A starlit riot

Of you
